Bliss Balls are awesome snacks and packed with nutrition.
I love them for on the go snacks and kicking that sweet treat or an afternoon pick me up.
Whenever I make a batch of Bliss Balls, I double the quantity and keep a heap in the freezer so that I don't eat them all at once. They are soooo tasty.
Thanks to my gorgeous friend Dee for sharing this recipe of hers many years ago with me. It has been a firm favourite, that's for sure.
You will need
1 Cup Tahini (or any nut butter eg. Almond Butter)
½ Cup Maple Syrup (or Honey if you don't need a Vegan option)
2-3 Tablespoons Coconut Oil
1-2 Teaspoons Vanilla Extract
3 Tablespoons Cacao Powder
2 Cups Mixed Seeds, Puffed Cereal (Millet/Corn), Chia Seeds, Flax etc
1 Cup Shredded Coconut
½ Cup Walnuts or Almonds
½ Cup Cranberries and/or Prunes, Sultanas, Goji Berries etc.
To make
Blend all ingredients together in either a blender, chopper or Thermomix until mix is combined and nuts broken down in to small pieces.
Roll in to balls of your desired size and set in the fridge for a few hours.
Note: Bliss Balls are very easy to adapt and use up what you have in your pantry.
You can also add in Cacao Nibs or Maca Powder
Protein Powder can be added towards the end as well if you would like an extra Protein hit.
